Greetings from the East Coast of Barbados, Barbados Cuisine

The East Coast of Barbados has a rugged landscape in contrast to the calmer waters and shorelines of the West and South coasts. The fresh air off the Atlantic ocean beckons, and the pounding surf is a hotspot for watersports enthusiasts. Pack your picnic basket, and enjoy a leisurely day at Bathsheba, in the parish of St. Joseph.

When you visit Barbados, "Land of the Flying Fish", you must treat yourself to some island favorites: Cou cou and flying fish (The island's National Dish), macaroni pie, pudding and souse, Mahi-mahi, fish cakes, cutters, Bajan sweet bread, just to name a few. Be sure to visit the outdoor markets for a selection of fresh produce that include island grown breadfruit, cassava, yams, eddoes, ackees, mangoes, plantains, soursop, avocado and more.

There are many choices on island to experience fine dining, that feature delectable local and international cuisine.

Happy Travels!
