Cayman Airways Introduces Nonstop Flights Between Cayman and Barbados

Starting on October 18, 2023, Cayman Airways will commence nonstop flights between Cayman and Barbados.

The introduction of this new service is expected to enhance regional connectivity. Cayman Islands Minister of Tourism and Ports, Hon. Kenneth Bryan shared, "I am very excited to announce this new, historic route which connects the Cayman Islands in the Western Caribbean and Barbados in the Southeast. The launch of this direct service not only fosters closer ties between our two countries but also provides regional travellers with seamless connectivity that will be cheaper, faster and more convenient than anything currently on the market. I look forward to this partnership having a positive impact on the tourism sectors of both the Cayman Islands and Barbados, and I am pleased that our national airline, Cayman Airways is being strategically leveraged to provide this much anticipated new service."

The new service has been timed to give travellers from Barbados the ability to connect via Grand Cayman to the recently launched Cayman Airways service to Los Angeles, opening up the West coast of the United States to travellers originating within the Eastern Caribbean. The addition of another option connecting Eastern Caribbean travellers to the west coast of the United States is expected to facilitate new opportunities for business travel, tourism, trade, and cultural exchange.

Greetings from the East Coast of Barbados, Barbados Cuisine

The East Coast of Barbados has a rugged landscape in contrast to the calmer waters and shorelines of the West and South coasts. The fresh air off the Atlantic ocean beckons, and the pounding surf is a hotspot for watersports enthusiasts. Pack your picnic basket, and enjoy a leisurely day at Bathsheba, in the parish of St. Joseph.

When you visit Barbados, "Land of the Flying Fish", you must treat yourself to some island favorites: Cou cou and flying fish (The island's National Dish), macaroni pie, pudding and souse, Mahi-mahi, fish cakes, cutters, Bajan sweet bread, just to name a few. Be sure to visit the outdoor markets for a selection of fresh produce that include island grown breadfruit, cassava, yams, eddoes, ackees, mangoes, plantains, soursop, avocado and more. There are many choices on island to experience fine dining, that feature delectable local and international cuisine.

Happy Travels!
